As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,
I believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior and Redeemer. I believe He loves each of us perfectly, knows our struggles, and provided the way for us to return to Heavenly Father through His Atonement. I believe in the principles He taught, including faith, repentance, baptism, and receiving the Holy Ghost. I know that through His grace, we can be healed, forgiven, and strengthened.
I believe in modern-day revelation through living prophets, the restoration of the gospel, and the importance of covenants with God. I strive to follow Christ’s example by serving others, loving my family, and living according to His teachings, finding joy in the hope He gives. Many get confused, thinking we aren’t christians, but I can attest that Christ is at the very center of our Church, which is His Church.
1. I believe:
In God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost and that they are three distinct beings united in purpose.
2. I believe:
I am accountable for my own sins, not for Adam’s or anyone else’s.
3. I believe:
That through Christ’s Atonement, I can be saved by obeying His gospel.
4. I believe:
In the first principles and ordinances of the gospel: faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism by immersion, and receiving the Holy Ghost.
5. I believe:
In being called of God to serve, just as in biblical times, through proper priesthood authority.
6. I believe:
In Christ’s original Church being restored, with apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, and more.
7. I believe:
In spiritual gifts, like prophecy, healing, and speaking in tongues, just as in ancient times.
8. I believe:
The Bible and the Book of Mormon are both the word of God, as long as they are translated correctly.
9. I believe:
In ongoing revelation, that God continues to speak to His children today.
10. I believe:
The literal gathering of Israel, that Zion (New Jerusalem) will be built, and Christ will reign on Earth.
11. I believe:
In respecting everyone’s right to worship how they choose, just as I expect the same for myself.
12. I believe:
In honoring and following the laws of the land, being a good citizen and obeying the law.
13. I believe:
In being honest, kind, and Christlike, and seeking after things that are good and uplifting.
